The next of my photographer interviews is published on the seconds2real blog today. Conversational partner this time: Rudi Meisel.

Max Thielmann’s series Casino Boogie consists of photographs taken in Berliner bars during the last twenty years. Those who have been in Berlin in the 90s may spot some long gone places like Mary Chain Bar, Kastanienallee, or Obst und Gemüse, Oranienburger Straße. Some pictures seem to twinkle over from a hazy distant past, some are just from around the corner and could have been taken last night. Max Thielmanns ode to Berliner night- and bar-life is on exhibition at FENSTER61 until May, 15th.

Vienna – what a charming city! The opening on Friday was quite full – 150?… 200? visitors – something like that. The gallery isn’t als big as the Berlin venue was, it’s more like a 3 room apartment here. That means that the exhibition is a bit more focused and that works very well I think. There’s another “Gallery Talk and Tour” today (2 – 5 pm) – so if you should be around Vienna – check this.
