Christian Doppelgatz is a very talented young photographer from Berlin. No studies, no art school, no slipslop, just DOING IT.
On his website he shows an outstanding series of portraits taken in today’s urban middle class society of Iran.
(wait a little while until the website is loaded completely and the arrows are visible to browse through the images)
UPDATE: There’s a post about his Iran series in his blog today.

I am happy to announce that my latest story is going on exhibition at Fenster61, Berlin-Mitte, in June 2010. It´s about the branch of athletics called wrestling done by athletes from Turkey, Germany, Russia, Hungary, Azerbaijan, Romania, Bulgaria, Armenia, Chechnya.

I visited training and competition of Türkischer Ringerverein Berlin for several months to capture something like the spirit of what is happening there.

I Heart Magazine

30 photographers, 88 photographs, no text, just pictures. All black and white, very rough and a layout that leaves no white space, nothing but pictures. 25.000 photos were submitted for the latest issue of I Heart Magazine and the result is a street photography magazine with a real great editing. all killers, no fillers!  And very well printed.
I Heart Magazine can be ordered on the I Heart Website. Highly recommended!
